The free license

A free license for 1 organization, 1 workspace and 3 people, that never ends.

3 min · Self-hosted

It allows unlimited workflows and runs, and is checked on your server without calling anyone. It doesn’t include Embedding, white-label branding, single sign-on or SCIM: those come with a paid license. It needs GoRunner v2026.10.3 or newer.

Get a free license

  1. Ask GoRunner for one at gorunner.io/contact, with your email address and the name it should be licensed to: your company, or your own.
  2. It arrives by email. Keep the email: it is your copy.
  3. Paste it on the license page, as in First sign-in.

You should see the License card says Free, licensed to the name you gave.

One free license works on as many installations as you like. Each is held to its limits.

What counts

Organizations: 1
Every organization on the installation.
Workspaces: 1
Every workspace, in every organization.
Seats: 3
Everyone in an organization, and every invitation not yet accepted, revoked or expired.

The installation’s built-in admin@localhost never counts. The card shows each, such as Seats 2 of 3 · 1 free or Workspaces 1 of 1 · In use. Exactly full is normal.

At the limits

GoRunner adds nothing past a limit, and says so with the numbers. Inviting a fourth person shows “All 3 seats are taken: 2 people and 1 invitation. Remove someone or revoke an invitation to free one, or load a license with more.”

Someone who isn’t a platform admin is told to ask one instead. A second organization or workspace is refused the same way: “This installation’s free license has 1 organization, and it’s in use.”

Free and paid

A paid license wins
Wherever each is loaded, a paid license in force is used over a free one.
Free to paid
On the License card, press Replace… and paste the paid one.
Paid to free
Only while the installation fits. A bigger one is refused, with its counts: “… The free license covers 1 organization, 1 workspace and 3 seats.”
Free in LICENSE_KEY
Not used when the installation doesn’t fit it. The license page says why.
Made with v2026.10.0 to v2026.10.2?

Those installations made a starter organization before their first account, usually empty. The free license counts it. Platform › Organizations then says “The starter organization is empty.”

Press Remove starter organization…, type a current 6-digit code, and press Remove organization. The notice shows only while it holds nothing; move or delete anything in it first.
