How do versions and side effects work?

A step keeps the app version it was built with. A worker that can’t run that version refuses rather than run another one. During an update, the run goes to a worker that can.

Each action computes from its inputs only, reads from outside, or can change something outside the run. Keel tests a step that can change something only after you agree.

You see the apps every running worker can run, so you can’t add a step no worker could run. Catalog status says when they differ, during an update.
