# What is GoRunner?

GoRunner does work between your apps for you, each time something happens.

## Workflows

You build a [workflow](https://docs.gorunner.io/glossary#workflow) on a canvas. It starts with a trigger, such as a form someone sends, an email that arrives or a set time. Then come the steps, each in an app: add a row in Google Sheets, or send an email in Gmail.

Each time the trigger fires, GoRunner does the steps in order. That is a [run](https://docs.gorunner.io/glossary#run).

## Ways to build

Pick each step yourself, or describe the workflow to Keel, GoRunner’s assistant, and apply what it drafts. You can also build and run workflows from ChatGPT, Claude and other AI apps, or from [your own code](https://docs.gorunner.io/api).

## Where it runs

GoRunner Cloud runs it for you. You can also run GoRunner [on your own server](https://docs.gorunner.io/self-host), or use it [inside another product](https://docs.gorunner.io/embed) that embeds it.
