# Sign up and sign in

Get into GoRunner with a link or a code from your email.

*Embed only:*

In Embed, your provider signs you in. There is nothing to set up.

*Cloud and Self-hosted only:*

## Sign up

*Cloud only:*

1. Open [app.gorunner.io/signup](https://app.gorunner.io/signup).
2. Enter your email and press **Send sign-up link**.
3. Open the email and press its link. Or type its 6-digit code under **Or enter the code from the email**.
4. On **Welcome to GoRunner**, add your name and your organization’s name, or press **Skip for now**.

You should see You’re the owner of a new organization, with one workspace called **Default Workspace**.

*Self-hosted only:*

On your own installation, new accounts are by invitation. An owner or admin invites you by email.

1. Open the invitation email and press its link. It works for 7 days.
2. On **Join** and your organization’s name, press **Continue with email**.
3. Sign in with the link or code GoRunner emails you, then press **Accept invitation**.

You should see **You joined** and your organization’s name, then your workspace opens.

No email on your installation? The invitation asks for your name and a password instead. See [Sign-in without email](https://docs.gorunner.io/self-host/sign-in-without-email).

## Sign in

1. Open GoRunner and enter your email.
2. Press **Send sign-in link**.
3. Press the link in the email, or type its code.

Does your organization use [single sign-on](https://docs.gorunner.io/build/single-sign-on)? Open the sign-in address your admin gave you instead.

The link and the code work for 15 minutes, and only once. After 5 wrong codes, the link is cancelled: press **Send a new link**. An address may have 15 wrong codes in 24 hours, across all its links. Past that, no code works for it, and the link in the email still does.

*Self-hosted only:*

Your installation may also let you press **Use your password**. Forgot it? Ask an admin for a reset link.

**What if the email doesn’t arrive?**

Wait a minute, then press **Resend email**. Check your spam folder. If you asked for links again and again, GoRunner may say **A link was just requested for that address**: try again in a minute.

**What if it says “Invitation only”?**

This installation takes no new sign-ups. Ask an admin to invite you.

*Self-hosted only:*

**What if it says “Sign-ups are full”?**

The installation’s license has no free seat. Ask an admin for an invitation or for room.

## If two-factor is on

After the link or single sign-on, **Two-factor authentication** asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Lost your phone? Press **Use a recovery code**. Each recovery code works once.

After too many wrong codes, wait 15 minutes. Lost your recovery codes too? An admin of your organization can reset two-factor.

## Sign out

Press your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then **Sign out**.
