# Let Keel build it for you

Describe a workflow in your own words, and Keel drafts the steps for you to check.

*Embed only:*

In Embed, what you can do depends on the [switches](https://docs.gorunner.io/embed/switches) your provider turned on.

## You need

- **Keel awake**: An owner or admin adds an Anthropic or OpenAI key in **Settings › Organization › Keel**. Until then Keel says **Keel is asleep.** See [Set up Keel](https://docs.gorunner.io/build/set-up-keel).
- **An editor’s role**: To apply what Keel drafts. A viewer can still ask.

## 1. Describe the workflow

1. In the sidebar, open **Keel**. Or press **Ask Keel** in **Workflows**.
2. Say what should happen, and when. For example: `When someone fills in my form, add them to my Google Sheet`.
3. Press `Enter`.

You should see What Keel is doing, such as **Searching the app catalog**, then its answer as a card.

## 2. Check the card

The card names the new workflow and lists its trigger and each step, in order. It also says what Keel tested.

If a step needs a [connection](https://docs.gorunner.io/glossary#connection), the card says so, with **Add connection**. Add it now, or later in the builder.

**What if it isn’t what I meant?**

Say what to change, such as `Send an email too`. Keel drafts a new card. **Discard** drops the one you don’t want.

## 3. Apply it

Press **Apply**. The workflow is saved as a [draft](https://docs.gorunner.io/glossary#draft): nothing runs yet.

You should see **Created as a draft**. Press **Open the workflow** to see it in the builder.

## 4. Test it

Ask Keel to `test it`, and press **Run test** on its card. Or press **Test** in the workflow’s top bar.

A test does real work: if the workflow sends an email, the email goes out.

You should see Worked on each card. If one shows Failed, tell Keel what you see, or select the card to read why.

## 5. Publish

Press **Publish** in the top bar. Or ask Keel, and press **Publish** on its card: the card says what goes live, such as **first publish**.

You should see the state next to the workflow’s name reads **Live**.

## Let Keel do more

Under Keel’s field, choose how much it does on its own: from **Ask**, where every change is a card you apply, to **Full**. Your organization’s limit, set by owners and admins, and your role set the most it may do. See [What Keel can do](https://docs.gorunner.io/build/keel#how-much-keel-does).
