# Delete a template

**DELETE** `/api/templates/{id}`

Deletes a template. Workflows made from it aren’t changed.

Needs [an API token](https://docs.gorunner.io/api/authentication#scopes) with the **Write** permission for workflows (`workflow:write`).

## Parameters

### Path

- `id` · Required · UUID: The template’s ID.

## Responses

- 200 OK

  Deleted. There is no undo.

- 403 `FORBIDDEN`

  The token lacks the **Write** permission for workflows, or the token’s owner may not delete it. Only its creator, an organization admin, or for a workspace’s own template that workspace’s admin.

- 404 `NOT_FOUND`

  No template with this ID in this workspace. A template the installation shares is changed only in the Platform console, and reads as not found here.

- 500 `INTERNAL_ERROR`

  Nothing was deleted. Try again.
